Introducing Myself
I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist, trained at WPF Therapy, then a distinguished psychodynamic and psychoanalytic training institution. I have been accredited by the the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) and Roehampton University.
Before becoming a psychotherapist, I worked in the charity sector, specialising in social justice, mental health and in books and reading. I’ve long been interested in how all forms of creativity can inform the therapeutic process and how therapy can help to unlock creativity.
I work with adults of all ages from 18 - 65+ and know that therapy can be particularly valuable at times of transition, whether that be leaving home, moving job or moving house, becoming a parent, or grandparent, or losing people close to us. I am especially interested in the age transitions from adolescence to adulthood, from adulthood to middle age and from middle to older age when we may begin thinking about our own deaths and what our life has meant.
I believe that therapy should be available to all and offer a few low-cost places to students, the unemployed, and people on low incomes, when I can.
I have had many years of psychotherapy myself. I like to think that this has helped me to understand what this kind of therapy feels like and to work sensitively with those who come to me for support.
I have received the following qualifications:
Hons BA English Literature;
MA English Literature;
Postgraduate Diploma Psychodynamic Psychotherapy (WPF Therapy, Roehampton University).
I am committed to continuing professional development and regularly attend top-up training.
